Braces. As parents we remember the torture of the metal bands and wires, of raw lips and poked cheeks, of enduring soreness after the “adjustments.” One word — fun!
While your own children may drive you crazy at times, and there is part of you that could some days wish braces on them, they don’t need to put up with the same metal mouth you did.
That’s because we use Invisalign at Implant Dentistry of Florida. Invisalign moves the teeth without all the metal. Instead of metal bands and wires, Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligner trays to move the teeth without being a metal mouth!
What can be corrected with Invisalign?
Skeptical that Invisalign can move your child’s teeth enough? These are the dental issues we can correct with Invisalign at Implant Dentistry of Florida:
- Crooked teeth
- Unevenly spaced teeth
- Overcrowded teeth
- Mild to moderate bite problems
Patients with severe bite problems usually need traditional braces, but mild to moderate tooth crookedness and spacing issues can usually be treated with Invisalign. That means your teen probably won’t have to suffer through braces.
What are the advantages of Invisalign?
Invisalign has truly revolutionized orthodontic care. Here are three great areas to consider:
- Invisible — Invisalign aligner trays are made of clear acrylic. There are no metal bands, no wires. No metal period. Because Invisalign trays are clear, they are virtually invisible when a person is wearing them. Even if a person is very close, they usually can’t spot the tray.
- Comfortable — Traditional braces are a pain, literally. If you play trumpet in your school band, good luck with the inside of your lips. The bands rub the inside of your lips and the wires poke your cheeks and tongue.
- Easy in, easy out — Braces are a figurative pain when eating. No corn on the cob. Nothing chewy like taffy. Food gets stuck in the bands and cleaning between them requires a flosser to thread dental floss. Just brushing well is difficult. But with Invisalign, you simply remove the tray when eating and when doing your hygiene in the morning and before bed. Then you put the tray back in. Piece o’ cake!
Your teenager doesn’t need to experience the metal mouth “period” that you had to suffer through. Put them in Invisalign instead. Then when you’re old and grey, maybe they’ll still invite you for Thanksgiving dinner! Call us at (321) 372-7700 and have Dr. Brown or Dr. Vaughn see if Invisalign can work for your child.
